-TRAINING -
- Every scout deserves a trained leader.
- Every registered leader in a unit should be trained. -
- We have put together a spreadsheet showing training opportunities. Not only the Akela District and Old North State Council, but also currently available training offered by the Old Hickory Council (Winston-Salem Area) and the Central Carolina Council (Southern Piedmont).
- If you had previously held a different position, you still need leader-specific training for your new position.
- You can not receive "leader knots" without being trained.
- There is now, no excuse, for every adult leader not to be able to display a "Trained" patch on their uniform!
Remember -
- All registered adults are required to take the Youth Protection Training online (every 2 years)
- A number of required (This Is Scouting) and optional training classes (Leave No Trace, Safety Afloat, etc..) are now available >> ONLINE TRAINING<<
- An easy way to insure that all your leaders are trained is to establish a Trainer (unit committee member) for your scouting unit.
For any questions about Unit Training, please feel free to contact the District Training Director (Larry Warlick) or Program Chair (Geno Iorio)
